Renata Silveira was the first Brazilian woman to commentate a FIFA Men's World Cup on radio when she called play-by-play of Uruguay v Costa Rica for Radio Globo on 14 June 2014. Silveira was one of 3 women selected by FOX Sports Brasil to serve as main play-by-play commentators on alternative all-female TV broadcasts of FIFA Men's World Cup Russia 2018 matches on FOX Sports 2 (Brazil). FOX Sports Brasil has employed Silveira ever since. After ESPN Brasil & FOX Sports Brasil merged operations in May 2020, Silveira was assigned to call futebol play-by-play commentary on both ESPN & FOX Sports-branded TV networks in Brazil.
