All six scheduled commentators on the day's MOTD collectively stepped down from their roles in solidarity with presenter Gary Lineker, who was removed from the programme by bosses over concerns over his social media activity breaching impartiality rules.
The programme was shortened and featured no commentary, studio analysis or intro.

Mark Chapman was supposed to present 5 Live Sport but he, along with several pundits, pulled out in solidarity with Gary Lineker.
BBC podcasts aired from 12:00 GMT, then 5 Live took Radio Wales coverage of Italy v Wales in the Six Nations from 14:00 GMT until the football coverage.

Sportsworld was scheduled to be broadcast at its usual Saturday slot from 14:06 to 18:00 GMT and take the 5 Live commentary. Despite the commentary being available, prerecorded programming took over the said time slot.
