Martin Škrtel (born 15 December 1984) is a Slovak former professional footballer, a player and former captain of the Slovakia national team and Liverpool. Škrtel previously played for FK AS Trenčín and Zenit Saint Petersburg, before joining Liverpool for £6.5 million in January 2008.
